The Rolling Stones postpone tour as Mick Jagger receives medical treatment - USA TODAY

The Rolling Stones are postponing their upcoming tour in order for frontman Mick Jagger to receive medical treatment.

The band announced the news in a  statement provided to USA TODAY Saturday by representative Fran Curtis.

"Mick Jagger has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time as he needs medical treatment," the statement read. "The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible."

No more details about Jagger’s condition were provided.

Jagger took to social media to apologize to his fans for the news.

"I'm sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets. I really hate letting you down like this," he wrote. "I'm devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone."

The Stones’ No Filter Tour was expected to kick off in Miami on April.

Tour promoters AEG Presents and Concerts West advise ticket holders to  keep their existing tickets because they will be valid for the rescheduled dates.
